Book review

FIRST EDITION, 1978. Hardback with dust jacket. Art Gore, author. 9 x 12 sized book. The dust jacket is pink with a pictorial of a sycamore tree with a swinging tire hanging on it. Originally sold for $25.00. Northland Press, Flagstaff, Arizona. Printed in the USA.Total 104 numbered pages. Many full page color illustrations. The book boards are cloth, navy and light lavendar. Very pretty. Silver lettering on the spine of the book. Minor shelf wear; couple small scratches, one tiny tear on the bottom of the dust jacket near the spine. On the front inside page of the book, there used to be a name label that fell off and left a minor darken square where it once was. These are the imperfections of this book. "This book is one man's journey into America's past. Nationally renowned photographer Art Gore has, through still life and heartwarming prose, recreated his youth in a small southern town during the pre World War II era, thus recollecting a life style unspoiled by the pace and pressures of the modern day world. The fifteen short stories and forty five full color photographs enact reminiscences with which many can identify and all can cherish, first loves, schoolboy fantasies, gracious and rustic country living, and many of the small pleasures enjoyed by those who grew up in the atmosphere of less complicated times." A nice book that will take you back in time. Priced competitvely at a very good price! *1BC6
